Junior Pontoon
This fund raiser provides regular
income, and helps to cover various expenses involved in the running of the Club.
Most of our families take part in this valuable fund raiser, however if you have any other family members or friends
wishing to support our Club’s fund raiser, please let Louise Prentice know as she is now collecting payments from members
at the bowling. Latest scores are displayed on the Notice Board.
Junior Notice Board
The Club Notice Board is updated regularly,
so please ensure that you refer to this regularly for any information placed there to keep you up to date, especially dates
and roll off times for tournaments and any changes to league dates.
Notification of Postponement/Pre-bowl
Bowlers and parents are
reminded that notification of illness must be received in sufficient time to prevent the opponent travelling to the bowl. The Secretary (Bernard - 620019) or Treasurer (Caroline - 713044) must be contacted
by telephone no later than 8.30 am on Sunday. Failure to conform with this rule will result in forfeiture of the points by
the offender. Please ensure that personal contact is made – do not use
an answering service as the person concerned may not be at home. E-mails
should not be used as they may not be received in time.
In all other cases of non-availability
and in the case of holidays, the Secretary must be notified as far in advance as possible so that these matches can be pre-bowled.
Postponed or pre-bowled matches
will be played on League dates.
Christmas Prize Draw
As a result of a good response
to our appeal for donations from parents and friends, and good sales by most families the Prize Draw realised £352.00, which
resulted in payment of Bowling, Meals and Selection Boxes for all bowlers and Vouchers for those with High Series and Games.
Coaching Staff
Congratulations to Duncan Cattenach on passing Level 1 following the Course in October. This adds to our existing team
of Level 1 Coaches, namely Katherine, Fiona, Louise and Caroline, all of whom are available to assist the younger bowlers
who can approach any of them with problems on Sunday mornings.
The next stage for these Coaches could be attending the Level 2 Course on 24/25th March, possibly at Livingston.
League Times
Yet another appeal for bowlers in Divisions
1 and 2 and Young Adults to be in the Bowl no later that 9.50 am to allow time for the paying of money and being on
lanes ready for practice starting at 10.00 am prompt, at which time lanes will be switched on. Any lateness at this time will result in the loss of practice time to avoid a knock on effect on Division3
and on lanes being available to Bowlplex for public bowling.
